Have you ever stopped and thought about prepping a full-blown pandemic survival kit? Most people don’t. Do you have a checklist that you went over and got each item stocked and prepped? If you don’t, you’ll know exactly what you need after reading this guide.
In the last post, we went over the home survival kit. Now in this post, we’re going to cover everything you need for an effective pandemic survival kit.
During a flu outbreak, the last thing you want to do is figure out what you should have for gear and survival medicines. Be prepared, know beforehand so you know exactly what to do when it happens.
Pandemic Kit List
Having the right supplies for your pandemic survival kit is always the key when stocking any kit or bag. We want to get the right supplies, not the most supplies or the most expensive and fanciest. But the right ones. The ones that are functional and do their job so we can survive and thrive in the disaster.
Here is the list of the essential items for your pandemic kit.
Heavy Duty Trash Bags
Stocking up on trash bags will be one of the essentials for this type of crisis.
TYVEK Coveralls
These coveralls are nearly bulletproof in terms of preventing almost everything from getting through them.
Goggles
Your eyes are one of the most important parts of your body for surviving. Protect them at all costs.
Gloves
Gloves will be needed to cover your hands to prevent the disease from being able to access your airway. To block everything from your skin and breathing airways, every part of your body must be covered thoroughly. Also, if you have to touch hazardous chemicals or materials, you’ll need to grab some gloves.
Mask
Your gas mask will be similar to your survival knife in a pandemic emergency. You’ll always be using it. Masks can be complicated at first when you go to buy one, there are lots of facts to know about gas masks. Having a high quality, a high functioning respiratory mask may be the difference between surviving until the next pandemic or not. Looking into a 3m respirator mask or something like an n95 particulate respirator will serve you well when looking for gas masks.

Chlorine Bleach
An abundant supply of chlorine will be needed as you’ll want to continually disinfect and clean common areas frequently. You can’t have enough of it.
Disinfecting Spray
Some kind of spray will be in high demand. A good disinfecting spray like Lysol is recommended.
Duct Tape
There are dozens of survival uses for duct tape as we covered before. One of them is to be in this kit.
Plastic Sheeting
Plastic sheeting works well for covering up air pathways. In a flu crisis, covering all vent airways and other airways that can be accessed by the general public is a good idea.
Hand Sanitizer
You can’t go wrong with buying an obnoxious amount of hand sanitizer. Opt-out for the small little squirt bottles that you see out in public. You can buy tubs of the stuff which will save you some space.
Conclusion
Now you know all of the pandemic survival kit supplies that will keep you prepared for the worst. It’s common to get discouraged and even experience some low depression-like thoughts while prepping for these kinds of crises. But these are the ones that make or break you if you’re not prepared.
Maybe taking a trip to the flu shot clinic isn’t such a bad idea…
